On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the Conference and the faculty and staff of the College of Environmental Science and Engineering (CESE), Tongji University, I warmly welcome biofilm scientists and researchers from all over the world In Shanghai. We are here to review recent advances in understanding biofilm processes, to exchange ideas and to discuss future challenges in biofilm research.
